YOGA

I have taught yoga and meditation since 1989. I used to teach nine classes a week and lead workshops all around the world. Now that I am about to turn 60, my practice has changed. I am focusing more on one-to-one somatic therapy and I teach three yoga classes a week.

I love the balance of yin and yang yoga. I think it’s important to mindfully move the body and transform energy with yang or active yoga. I feel it is equally important to deeply practice surrender and explore the wisdom of letting go in yin yoga. I strive to teach both and bring that equanimity into my life, classes and video recordings.

Yoga for Everybody

ONLINE WITH ZOOM
Sliding scale of $15-$25

A mixed-level yoga class that begins with slow warm-ups, some basic strengthening poses, and then might focus on a Vinyasa (flowing yoga), standing poses, and some balance work. We spend about 5-10 minutes with light weights to help our bones and build upper body strength for Downward-Facing Dog and Plank. Classes end with relaxing poses. Once a month this class is a Restorative/Yin class.

Props needed for each class: sticky mat, two blocks, a blanket or thick towel, a strap, light weights, and a bolster for restoratives.

Core Challenge

ONLINE WITH ZOOM
Sliding scale of $15-$25

A very active, dynamic class with an emphasis on strengthening the legs, chest, arms, back body, and abdominals. We use light and heavy weights (everything is optional) and have fun! Expect to sweat.

Props needed: sticky mat, two blocks, a blanket or thick towel, weights, and a strap.

NOTE: Please have a yoga mat, two blocks, a strap, and a blanket for class and a bolster if you’re doing Yin/Restorative Yoga. Your practice will feel better on an empty stomach.

For Zoom classes: To preserve our sangha-feel, we arrive a few minutes before class starts to welcome each other. Have all your props ready. You can end your class experience anytime. During the classes you will be on mute and it’s up to you if you want your personal video on or off. If your camera is on I can see your form and offer suggestions. The class is for you so do whatever you makes you most comfortable. May you feel healthy and relaxed.

BE STRETCHED

This is a lovely, quiet session where I slowly move your body through healing yoga poses with attention to the breath.

You lie on a comfortable, soft, padded mat and I smoothly move you into deep, safe stretches, allowing muscles to open in asanas you can't easily maintain alone. Soothing music plays in the background. Some say it's even better than a massage!

Because poses are held 1 to 5 minutes (you are always in control of depth and length), a physiological imprint is made on your muscles. Each session helps you increase your flexibility, circulation, and sense of well-being.

Treat yourself today.

My one-hour sessions are $130

You can book your session through my website or by emailing me at harmonyyogastudio@comcast.net.
